Gather the Spirit for Justice...Uniting for the Common Good

 Common Ground Community Center

Toiletry Collection
Please partner with our neighbors in Allison Hill

Working with the neighbors that attend Common Ground Community Center (CGCC), we have identified a need for toiletries.

Wages are low, rents are high and toiletries cost too much. These items are not eligible for purchase through the food stamp program. Many of our neighbors who attend CGCC are elderly and dependent on Social Security only. There is always “too much month at the end of the money.”

The items below have been suggested by CGCC attendees. After toiletries are donated, CGCC participants will sort and organize items for distribution.

  • Deodorant
  • Body wash bar soap - no Irish Spring or Ivory, please
  • Hand/Body lotion
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Toothbrushes (individually wrapped) and toothpaste
  • Diapers (baby and toddler)
  • Toiler paper
  • Paper towels
  • Tissues
  • Socks for men, women and children
  • Men's tee shirts and boxer shorts
  • Ladies panties
  • Hats and gloves for men, women and children

If you are aware of a church, company or other organization that is organizing a donation drive, please call Gather the Spirit to check what items are most needed at that time, as supply and demand vary from time to time.

Items may be dropped off at 124 South 13th Street during community center hours (10 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday, Friday). THANK YOU!
